George Banning, MD, MPH

Psychiatry/Addiction Psychiatry

Dr. George Banning was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Banning earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree  in Biology from Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, NY. After a brief career as a professional ballet dancer, he decided to heed the call to medicine. He is a graduate of SUNY Downstate Medical school, in Brooklyn, NY. He also holds a Masters of Public Health degree from SUNY Downstate Medical school, in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Banning was a tutor for junior students, served as a mentor for local Brooklyn teens in the Knowledge is Power (KAVI) program and also served as a volunteer for the Special Olympics. Dr. Banning has also worked as a community advocate, focusing on harm reduction programs in New York City with IV opioid users. Dr. Banning is completed his residency training in Psychiatry, and is currently specializing in Addiction Psychiatry.
